Mr. Bantillo created the nation’s first government program to document and certify Construction & Demolition material recycling facilities twenty years ago. He served on the Construction and Demolition Recycling Association’s (CDRA) board, receiving their inaugural “C&D Recycler of the Year” award in 2008, and currently serves on other boards representing the recycling industry in North America. Mr. Bantillo was appointed to San Jose Unified School District’s Bond Oversight Committee, establishing protocols on construction funding of $429M and assisting the District with the greening of its construction projects. He assisted CDRA in the development of the National Standard Protocol (CORR) to provide third-party certification of C&D facilities. As Executive Director of the Recycling Certification Institute, he is now implementing the CORR Protocol with a focus on increasing confidence, accuracy, and transparency in the reported recovery rates within the C&D industry.
