Ian Olson is the Senior Director of Global Market Sustainability for McDonald's Corporation. In this position, Ian is responsible for leading the advancement and implementation of sustainability strategies for McDonald’s global supply chain, restaurants and communities reaching more than 69 million customers daily in over 35,000 McDonald’s restaurants worldwide. Prior to joining McDonald’s, Ian was the Director of Sustainability for Darden Restaurants, the largest full service restaurant company in the world and holder of such well-known brands as Olive Garden, Longhorn Steakhouse, Seasons 52, Yard House, Eddie V’s and The Capital Grille. In addition, Ian has held the position of Global Manager and established Ford Motor Company’s Supply Chain Sustainability office, integrating sustainability strategies and supporting a $90 billion supply chain which included more than 12,000 suppliers. Ian holds a BA in Economic Policy and a Masters of Business Administration in Supply Chain Management from Michigan State University.
