Holly Beale has a passion for making big impacts for positive change towards a more sustainable, greener, cleaner, more equitable world. She started and leads the global Community Environmental Sustainability program for Microsoft's Datacenter Community Development team; building a program to positively impact the long-term environmental health of the communities in Microsoft’s global datacenter footprint. The program involves working directly with local groups and supporting locally relevant sustainability projects across carbon, water, waste, and ecosystems focus areas.
Holly co-founded and co-leads Microsoft's Sustainability Connected Community, the company’s employee engagement program with 5,000+ employees leading positive environmental change at every level of the company.
Previously as an Energy Analyst on Microsoft's Energy Strategy and Research team within Cloud Infrastructure and Operations, she focused on Market Strategy, Renewable Energy, and Distributed Generation.
Beyond Microsoft, Holly is on the Board of Directors for American Forests, frequently engages publicly to share her sustainability experience, and is very active in the outdoor community rock climbing, ice climbing, ski mountaineering, paragliding, trail running, and mountain biking, and has several speed records on Washington peaks.
