Brenda Brickhouse is the Vice President of Environment & Energy Policy and Chief Sustainability Officer for the Tennessee Valley Authority where she is responsible for regulatory affairs and sustainability. Prior to TVA, Brenda held a variety of leadership roles in the utility industry in operations and environmental planning including hydroelectric and fossil steam operations, permitting and compliance, facility siting, and natural resources management. She has a Bachelor of Science degree in Forestry and Master’s in Public Affairs from NC State University. Brenda previously served NCSU as President of the NC Forestry Foundation and later the NC State Natural Resources Foundation. She is active on the Electric Power Research Institute’s Environment Council and on the Environmental Executive Committee of the Edison Electric Institute. She and her husband Wade, a Raleigh native and visual artist, live in Chattanooga TN; they support the arts, including Penland School of Crafts and NC State’s Gregg Museum, and take care of their rescued cats and dogs.
