Greensmith Energy Management Systems, a Wartsila Company
Adam is the director of business development and strategy for Greensmith Energy Management Systems, a Wärtsilä Company. He works on strategic partnerships and market strategy to accelerate Greensmith’s success in the energy storage and hybrid energy systems marketplace. Prior to joining Greensmith in August of 2018, Adam spent four years at Natel Energy, a low-impact hydropower company in Alameda, California, where he launched their international business and managed the company’s new hydropower turbine product. In the past, he has worked as a teacher in Switzerland, a water resource infrastructure geologist in Northern California, and for the Energy Foundation in San Francisco on federal climate change and energy security policy. He is passionate about working to mitigate and adapt to the effects of climate change, enjoying the outdoors on skis, wheels, and on foot, and experiencing new places and cultures around the world. He holds a Masters in Business Administration from the Kellogg School of Management, a Masters in Engineering Management from the McCormick School of Engineering at Northwestern, and a BA in geology and Spanish from Colby College. He is a Truman Security Fellow and previously served on the Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Advisory Council to the Secretary of Commerce of the United States.
