Ocean Energy and Economic Development Symposium & Workshop 

This two day event on the Big Island will take place June 23 at NELHA and June 24 at King Kamehameha’s Kona Beach Hotel. Part of the Okinawa Hawai’i Clean Energy Cooperation, the annual Symposium brings together government, academia, and business to discuss ocean energy including OTEC, economics, the environment, and more. Energy Revolution Workshop - Monday, June 19, 20173-5 pm
The Energy Revolution workshop will guide participants through the ideation, innovation, and implementation of a Clean Energy Transformation. The workshop will foster an engaging dialogue between energy innovators Peter Kelly-Detwiler and Jose Dizon and the World Youth Congress Delegates who are interested and perhaps already engaged in the Clean Energy Transformation in their respective regions. Guru Lunches

Guru Lunches

Details: Join like minded attendees for interactive moderated lunch discussions around a particular topic. Each discussion will be led by an expert with roundtables of up to 10 participants. These are free form discussions, so bring your own challenges, questions and ideas.

Biomimicry Hike

This hike, through some of the less-traveled trails at Harold L. Lyon Arboretum, will allow participants to get outside and reconnect with nature. Hikers will learn about the essential elements of biomimicry, explore and discuss function of local organisms and understand how those functions are translated into biomimicry terms and can be applied in the energy sector. Space is extremely limited and pre-registration is required.

Note: Please bring appropriate foot gear, rain jackets, bug juice and sunscreen for this rugged trail hike.
