How To Get the Most Out of Your VERGE 20 Experience
How will VERGE 20’s online event work?
We are hosting VERGE 20 on Hopin, an online events platform. As an attendee, you’ll be able to move in and out of rooms just like you would at an in-person event and enjoy the content and connections throughout. The Hopin platform includes live streamed sessions, the virtual expo, networking features and more!

Navigating the Schedule & Sessions

In Hopin, you can see the full schedule including what is happening in real-time on the Reception page.

To join a session, click the “Sessions” icon on the left-hand side of your screen. Click into the session you’d like to join.

During transitions, new sessions will appear at the bottom of the “Sessions” page. Please be sure to scroll down during that time and/or refresh your page.
How to Use the “Networking” Feature
Click the "Networking" icon in the left sidebar
When asked "Are you ready?" click "Ready"
Share your audio and video
You will be paired with another attendee who will join you on screen
You will have 3 minutes to chat.
Click "Connect" to exchange info
Once in the networking meeting, a blue “Connect” button will appear at the bottom of the screen. This button allows participants the ability to quickly and easily exchange contact information, like exchanging business cards at a physical event. If both participants click Connect, a connection registers. When a connection registers, both people will see the other’s contact info on the Connections tab of their Profile.
Note
You cannot extend the time of the video call, but if you’d like to continue the conversation, click the “People” tab on the right side of your screen and direct message them or invite them to a video call (scroll down this page for more info).
How to Connect Using 1:1 Video Chat
Click the “People” tab on the right of the screen
You can scroll through the list of attendees or search for a specific person in the search bar. Click the name of the attendee you want to connect with. We recommend direct messaging them to see if they are available to connect before inviting them to a video call.
Click “Invite to a video call”
Click the link to join them in the 1:1 video
A message will automatically appear in the chat box, inviting that person to a private meeting room.
Please note that you will not receive a notification saying that the attendee joined your meeting room. We advise you to click the link as soon as you share it and wait for your connection to appear on screen. If they are unable to join, we recommend coordinating a time to meet through the direct chat function.
How to Follow Up with Someone Post-Event
During Hopin's Networking segment, you and your conversation partner choose whether or not you'd like to keep in touch after the conversation by clicking the Connect button.
If both parties click Connect, your profile info will be exchanged and you will be able to follow up with them. On the Connections page of your Hopin account, you can choose the information that will appear on your profile, which will be available to fellow attendees:

LinkedIn
Twitter
Tip: The channels of communication depend on the details filled to the attendee on the Profile page. Make sure to add the details to let other attendees easily find and contact you after the event.
You can always choose to Unmatch the connection under the three-dots menu.
Visit the Expo
The Expo area is the virtual exhibitor hall with vendor booths in our event and serves as another great way to network. Click into booths to engage with the company by either group chatting, video-chatting, or direct messaging.
