Fleet Electrification Summit
Tuesday, October 16 | 8:00am - 12:15pm
Tuesday, October 16, 8:00am - 12:15pm | Washington Inn, Oakland, CA
The Fleet Electrification Summit is a half-day, invitation-only working session focused on what will it take to accelerate the electrification of fleets.
We cannot achieve ambitious climate goals — locally, nationally or globally — without addressing the transportation sector. Given the relatively slow uptake of EVs by consumers, fleets will be key to accelerating demand and achieving the kinds of cost reductions that lead to mass-market adoption. Many fleets offer customers a lower total cost of ownership than diesel-based vehicles depending on the application.
Transforming corporate, city, government, utility, vehicle sharing and other fleets — from passenger cars to both light- and heavy-duty vehicles — to electricity won’t require many further technological advances. Rather, it will require educating customers, creating new financing mechanisms, standardizing procurement models and ensuring the ability of users to safely, quickly and affordably recharge their vehicles.

Agenda
The Summit begins with an opening breakfast to establish the focus and frame for the session. Participants will then engage in a series of facilitated discussions focused on what it will take to accelerate the electrification of fleets. The Summit is designed to be an interactive, roll-up-your-sleeves experience, with a limited number of speeches and slide presentations.
What You Can Expect
Deep learning about what technologies and new models are on the cutting edge of fleet electrification
Focused networking with a diverse group of leaders who can be powerful and effective allies and potential partners
Collaborative investigation of key actions you can take, individually and through your organization, that can move the needle
Who Should Attend
Participants include leaders in:
- Fleet management
- Vehicle manufacturing
- Energy planning and procurement

Topics We Will Address
During the primary working session, we will explore pathways to key solutions, including:
Creating a sufficiently broad selection of EVs to serve fleet buyers
Enabling fleet buyers and transportation startups to collaborate more effectively
Developing and scaling new types of financing mechanisms that lower initial costs for EVs
Deploying policies around the environmental, public health, economic and societal benefits of fleet vehicle electrification
Advancing the cost-effective electrification of over the road trucking
Increasing the charging infrastructure to accommodate EV fleets
Creating the conditions conducive to electrifying local transit systems
Growing greater participation from utilities for customer fleet electrification
