How the Day will Flow:
The Challenge session will begin with an opening breakfast and issues-focused panel that will describe specific instances where a consortium of companies have joined together to raise the standards for procurement of a specific commodity. This will be followed by industry-specific breakouts to discuss other initiatives that have developed and to identify what factors made them successful. This will be followed by an initial report out.
After an industry collaboration report out, a second panel will provide specific examples of leading practices that lead to more sustainable and transparent procurement efforts at leading organizations. Participants will again engage in small group discussions to discuss how these approaches might be adopted in their procurement departments.
A final half-hour panel will present how technologies are advancing to bring greater transparency and traceability to global supply chains.
