How To Get the Most Out of Your GreenBiz 21 Experience

How will GreenBiz 21’s online event work?

We are hosting GreenBiz 21 on Hopin, an online events platform. As an attendee, you’ll be able to move in and out of rooms just like you would at an in-person event and enjoy the content and connections throughout. The Hopin platform includes live streamed sessions, the forum, networking features and more!

In Hopin, you can:

.
  • Build your profile and link your social media accounts.
  • Tune in live from your device.
  • Watch livestreamed main stage and breakout sessions.
  • Connect and network with other attendees.
  • Live chat with fellow participants and ask questions.
  • Get matched with other attendees for video calls.
  • Invite other attendees to private video calls.

Once in the networking meeting, a blue “Connect” button will appear at the bottom of the screen. This button allows participants the ability to quickly and easily exchange contact information, like exchanging business cards at a physical event. If both participants click Connect, a connection registers. When a connection registers, both people will see the other’s contact info on the Connections tab of their Profile.

 Note

You cannot extend the time of the video call, but if you’d like to continue the conversation, click the “People” tab on the right side of your screen and direct message them or invite them to a video call (scroll down this page for more info).

How to Connect Using 1:1 Video Chat

Click the “People” tab

On the right-hand side of your screen, you will see three tabs. Click the “People” tab.

You can scroll through the list of attendees or search for a specific person in the search bar. Click the name of the attendee you want to connect with. We recommend direct messaging them to see if they are available to connect before inviting them to a video call.

Click “Invite to a video call”

Click the link to join them in the 1:1 video

How to Schedule a Meeting with other Attendees

Click the “People” tab

And click the "Schedule a meeting" button. You can also scroll through the list of attendees or search for a specific person in the search bar to schedule a meeting.

Schedule the meeting

Select the date and time for your meeting and invite up to 4 attendees to your meeting.

Once you have your meeting set up, you are able to send the invitation.

What happens after I send the invite?

Attendees will be able to accept or decline invitations from the Notifications icon:

After the attendee(s) respond to your invite, you will receive a notification.

If accepted, you will be able to enter the meeting room 5 minutes before the scheduled time to get ready:

During Hopin's Networking segment, you and your conversation partner choose whether or not you'd like to keep in touch after the conversation by clicking the Connect button.

If both parties click Connect, your profile info will be exchanged and you will be able to follow up with them. On the Connections page of your Hopin account, you can choose the information that will appear on your profile, which will be available to fellow attendees:

  • Email

  • LinkedIn

  • Twitter

Tip: The channels of communication depend on the details filled to the attendee on the Profile page. Make sure to add the details to let other attendees easily find and contact you after the event.

You can always choose to Unmatch the connection under the three-dots menu.
