With nearly 20+ years of industry experience, Fahmida has held Sustainability and ESG roles at a variety of organizations including Stanford University, UC Berkeley and more recently Intuitive. Fahmida joined Intuitive, the pioneer in robotic-assisted surgery and minimally invasive care, in July 2022 as the Senior Director and Head of Sustainability and ESG. In this role she will oversee the ESG functions along with sustainability strategy, ESG regulatory compliance and environmental management systems. Prior to Intuitive, Fahmida served as a VP of Sustainability at ITRenew, a circularity company for global hyperscalers and their data centers in Information Communication Technology. Fahmida served as a pioneering practitioner in Higher Education for 15 years. She founded and directed Stanford University’s Office of Sustainability programs for infrastructure planning, resource efficiency, assessments, reporting, business digitization, individual engagement, and research integration to foster ‘university as a living lab’. Before Stanford, she was the founding director at University of California, Berkeley, where she built its first climate action program and a model for the University of California system. Fahmida earned a B.A. in Economics from Smith College and a Master’s in Environmental Science and Management from the Bren School at the University of California, Santa Barbara.
