
Holmes Hummel
Dr. Holmes Hummel founded Clean Energy Works to accelerate investments in the clean energy economy through utility financing. Drawing on two decades of experience in the energy field and a lifetime of advocacy for equity and opportunity, Dr. Hummel brings an uncommon combination of domain expertise and familiarity with campaigns for social justice to bear on inclusive financing in the clean energy sector. Dr. Hummel lead Clean Energy Works to garner international attention through awards and endorsements from Bloomberg New Energy Finance, the Keeling Curve Prize, and the Global Innovation Lab for Climate Finance. Previously, Dr. Hummel served as the Senior Policy Advisor in the Department of Energy’s Office of Policy & International Affairs from 2009-2013, and among other responsibilities, led the agency's finance working group. Dr. Hummel earned a doctorate degree from Stanford University for interdisciplinary research on energy technology scenarios that achieve 100% clean energy for all.
