Jeannette Ferran Astorga is Vice President, Head of Sustainability, for Zoetis, a Fortune 500 global animal health company. As the world’s leading animal health company, Zoetis is dedicated to discovering, developing, manufacturing and commercializing vaccines, medicines, diagnostics and other solutions for veterinarians, livestock farmers and people who raise and care for farm and companion animals.

At Zoetis, sustainability is integral to the business strategy, building on its core business purpose to nurture our world and humankind by advancing care for animals. As the company’s first Head of Sustainability, Jeannette is responsible for leading the comprehensive strategy and global execution, tracking and reporting of Zoetis’ inaugural sustainability goals. Jeannette advises Zoetis leadership and Board of Directors on environmental, social and governance (ESG) and sustainability, working cross-functionally to launch the company’s ambitious long range goals in the areas of environment and social impact and lead the efforts to launch Zoetis’ first sustainability reporting to share progress toward its commitments.

Prior to Zoetis, Jeannette was the Vice President of Corporate Responsibility and Global Lead of the Responsibility Center of Excellence at the ascena Retail Group, one of the leading U.S.-based specialty retailers and parent Company of fashion brands serving women and girls – Ann Taylor, LOFT, Lou & Grey, Dress Barn, Maurices, Lane Bryant, Catherines and Justice. Jeannette led the global team responsible for supply chain compliance and sustainability, diversity and inclusion, corporate philanthropy, and served as President of the ascena Foundation – supporting its associates and grantees across company offices, stores, communities and its global supply chain.

Throughout her career, Jeannette has held management positions in areas such as information systems, merchandise planning and various business support functions. She started her retail career at Liz Claiborne, Inc.

Jeannette was recognized as one of Assent’s 2020 Top 100 Corporate Social Responsibility Influence Leaders. Jeannette earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing/Finance from Fordham University in New York and has completed a Harvard Business School Executive Education Program in Corporate Social Responsibility.

Committed to how she can extend her reach beyond her office, Jeannette is a member of the Board of Industry Advisors for LIM College in New York, named one of 2019’s Best Fashion Schools in the World by Business of Fashion. Jeannette actively supports women by volunteering as a career counselor and executive mentor through various organizations including 92Y Women inPower and New Women, New Yorkers, a non-profit providing mentorship for immigrant women seeking employment in New York City.
